Work showcased at heart failure and diabetes workshop

A team from the CLAHRC for Greater Manchester, in conjunction with the Diabetes and Obesity Research Network (DORN), presented and discussed their work at a multi morbidity research workshop.

Organised by the CLAHRC for Greater Manchester Clinical Lead Professor Christi Deaton, ‘Heart disease and diabetes: challenges, funding and opportunities for research in multimorbidity’ took place on 29 July at the University of Manchester. Prof Sandra Dunbar (Associate Dean, School of Nursing, Emory University), Prof Vivien Coates (Professor of Nursing Research, University of Ulster), Prof Peter Bower (Centre for Primary Care, Institute of Population Health, University of Manchester) and Dr Sarah Cotterill (Research Design Services Advisor and Health Methodology, Institute of Population Health, University of Manchester) all spoke at the event.

CLAHRC for Greater Manchester projects presented via poster at the workshop included severe mental illness and physical health, Greater Manchester Electronic Long-term Conditions Integrated Assessment Tool (GM-ELIAT), Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT) Care Call and Greater Manchester Heart Failure Investigation Tool (GM-HFIT).
