The NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Oxford and Thames Valley Knowledge Mobilisation programme focuses on building capacity and capability and mobilising evidence across these system priority areas.
- Start Well- helping all children and young people achieve the best start in life
- Live Well- supporting people and communities to live healthy and happier lives
- Age Well- staying healthy and independent for longer
Approaches
The main approaches to knowledge mobilisation we take are:
- Partnership optimisation:
Working closely with both our local integrated care board (Thames Valley Integrated Care Board), Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley and other local, regional and national partners to map knowledge-to-action gaps and identify opportunities for current and future research evidence to inform policy and practice. - Network development:
- Use existing networks to support the use of research outputs and innovations addressing health inequalities and social determinants of health, linked with NHS Core20PLUS5.
- Participate in partner events to facilitate knowledge exchange and broker new relationships between creators and users of knowledge
- Work with current and new partners to identify implementation opportunities
- Knowledge translation:
- Support researchers to develop accessible summaries of their work
- Help adapt research findings to local contexts
- Identify and share case studies of successful knowledge mobilisation
- Strategic alignment:
Work with system partners to understand barriers and facilitators to knowledge use and support evidence-informed decision-making.
