Knowledge Mobilisation


The NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Knowledge Mobilisation Programme is a national programme that aims to reduce the time it takes to roll out effective interventions, policies and models of care to address high-priority national and regional challenges

The NIHR has awarded funding to its Applied Research Collaborations to build knowledge mobilisation (KM) capacity and capability within the health and social care system.  The initiative aims to reduce the time it takes to roll out effective interventions, policies and models of care to address high-priority national and regional challenges and maximise the impact of research.

As part of the funding NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Greater Manchester (ARC-GM) will take a lead role in coordinating the programme on behalf of the other ARCs, co-developing a shared KM strategy and establishing a community of KM Fellows.

Group Aims:

The ARC KM programme, led by the KM group as a whole, will act as a visible and accessible hub for knowledge management expertise and resources, supporting collaboration across the ARC network and with wider stakeholders.

The NIHR KM group is committed to:

  1. Developing a pipeline of research-informed innovations
  2. Stakeholder engagement and connection
  3. Strengthening communication for KM
  4. Building and supporting the KM community
  5. Evaluation
  6. Governance and operations
  7. Resource coordination
