Professor Michelle Briggs joins the ARC-GM team as our new Capacity Building Lead
We’re very pleased to share the news that on the 1st September, Professor Michelle Briggs joined the ARC-GM team as our Capactiy Building Lead.
Michelle, is the Florence Nightingale Foundation Clinical Professor of Nursing at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), and will be combining her new role with ARC-GM with her existing position at MFT, along her roles as lead for MFTs Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Research Unit and regional lead for NIHR Northern hub for 70@70 research leaders.
Michelle will be working with colleagues from the health and social care system, to lead on the development of our ARC-GM strategy and plans for academic career development, research capacity and capability building.

One of the key early focusses will be to work with ARC-GM colleagues, other local National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) training leads and partner health and social care organisations within Greater Manchester, to deliver a programme of applied health research fellowships that support the internship, pre-doctoral, doctoral and postdoctoral career stages and a rolling annual programme of training and academic career development activities and mentorship.
