Wound Care

Programme aim

Projects within this programme of work focused on enhancing quality of care and outcomes for people with complex wounds (sometimes referred to as chronic wounds), through the development of collaborations to promote the development and use of evidence-based practice within NHS community services.

The objectives of our wound care programme were:

  • To build an active and collaborative wound care research and implementation network across Greater Manchester and East Lancashire;

  • To identify local wound care uncertainties, priorities and current standards of care, and to use these to develop and commence delivery of a programme of community-based, world-leading wound research studies;

  • To support the implementation of wound care evidence into clinical practice and health service delivery;

  • To study the processes associated with the implementation of wound care research evidence.
