Why were you interested in research and this ARC-GM Internship?
I am interested in contributing to research that would improve the pharmaceutical care that patients receive in general practice and I am an ARC-GM intern to develop my research skills to launch me into the research arena.
What are you hoping to achieve over the course of the Internship?
I am hoping that over the course of the internship I would complete the research design module as this would equip me with the required knowledge and initial skills to embark on my research journey. Why were you interested in research and this ARC-GM Internship?
Being an oncology research nurse for many years, I was interested in making a contribution to clinical research and making a real difference to patients’ lives and to improve health outcomes. I would like to be able to combine my clinical work and research work in developing research studies promoting holistic care, equality and to support in their treatment pathways. I want to develop my career as a nurse researcher and to equip myself well to be able to drive my career forward and this internship opportunity is a big step to it.
What are you hoping to achieve over the course of the Internship?
I hope to gain deeper understanding and skills in conducting qualitative research by having the support from dedicated supervisors and access to learning resources. Also, to be able to publish several papers and to present my work at national conferences. Ultimately, I would like to be be able to develop a PhD application at the end of the program.
